Kyle went above and beyond the call of duty caring for a patient unable to care for himself. Kyle bathed a patient in the ER from head to toe. Let me elaborate. Kyle sat down with the patient, cleaned maggots out of his wound, cleaned the feces off his legs and backside, cleaned his hair, attempted to brush it but then cut the matted hair, trimmed his jagged nails, cleaned underneath his nails, and cleaned his glasses. He gave this patient back his dignity and did this all while being kind and discussing the patient's interest in playing instruments and writing songs. Kyle gave me report at bedside and as we were leaving the room Kyle thanked the patient for allowing him to care for him and for chatting with him while he did his work. I've seen Kyle go above and beyond for his patients more than once. Kyle sees each patient as a person and not a number. I've been a nurse for 10 years and I am still in awe and encouraged when I get to see someone love on an individual in such an impactful way. Great work Kyle!
