My husband has dementia, which we have been managing for about a decade. He became a resident of a Memory Care Unit about two and a half years ago. At his advanced age, he faces many physical challenges in addition to those related to dementia. He has an indwelling catheter and has recently been experiencing fluid retention issues.

Until Kyle began visiting my husband, I often felt alone in managing the many struggles that come with his care. Kyle’s clinical assessment abilities and organizational skills are exceptional. He coordinates seamlessly with physicians, me, and the facility staff, lifting a tremendous burden off my shoulders. Each time he visits, Kyle shakes my husband’s hand when he arrives and again before he leaves. For someone living with dementia, who is often “spoken about” rather than “spoken to,” this simple act of respect means everything.

I know how busy Kyle is, yet he always goes the extra mile. He makes both of us feel seen, heard, and valued. His kindness and steady presence reassure me that I am not alone in this journey.
