The nurse for my second night at St. Joseph’s in Phoenix, Arizona was Kyle. Kyle was super sweet, extremely kind, very gentle, and greatly empathetic. I had a rough night with a debilitating headache, and Kyle was there the whole night helping me get through the pain. He never showed any annoyance, frustration, or impatience. On the contrary, his calming and gentle nature helped me through the night. Just as a small example, every time I went to the restroom, Kyle would have made my bed and organized the pads on the bed. Most people who’ve been working hard all night would take the opportunity to take a break but even during these times, Kyle was doing things to make me feel comfortable. He didn’t go out of his way just once, he did it all night and did it with a smile. Thank you for having such caring and empathetic nurses on staff. Being a patient seems helpless and vulnerable, and a kind, caring nurse can make a huge difference to the patient’s well-being.
