Kylee Collmer went above and beyond what was required of her on the overnight shift of October 18-19. She did not know my mother or any of my family members, yet treated us as family. By us I mean my father, my six brothers and sisters and their children. We were quite a crowd, not to mention our priest that came to give my mom her last rites. Kylee treated each one of us with an overdose of kindness and compassion. Nobody expected my mom to go downhill so fast and it is truly a miracle that all seven of her children made it to say goodbye. Everything Kylee did showed professionalism and knowledge in her tasks. I am exceedingly grateful that she was the angel assigned to comfort my dad during the late night and early morning vigil before my mom passed away. Since I am the oldest child, she had my phone number to notify me and she was once again reliable and calm. God bless Kylee and all the wonderful nurses in the world! Written by daughter of patient

Kylee Collmer's treatment of my wife and me during the last evening and night of my wife's life was well above anything I have even experienced in a hospital. My wife's wellbeing was high on Kylee's to do list. She performed her duties very efficiently but not mechanically. She could not have been more compassionate and concerned about my wife than if it had been her own mother. Kylee took excellent care of me that night also. She kept me warm and comfortable, but above all, I will be ever grateful for her suggestion (about 5:00 am) that I might want to hold my wife's hand. I have no idea how long I stood there holding her hand before the monitor went straight line and the doctor told me it was over. I shall cherish those last few minutes for the rest of my life. Thank you Kylee! Written by patient's husband

My mother passed away in October and Kylee was the nurse working at the time. She took the time with each and every one of our family members (and there were a lot of us) to explain the monitor and what it meant if my mother was in pain, etc. She never made us feel that she didn't have the time for us. She was so sweet and kind! In the last few hours of mom's life she sat with my father and made him feel as good as possible under the circumstances. She has definitely taken the right career path, because she has an amazing bedside manner. After my mother passed, I know she had to stay late at work because she didn't get all her paperwork done that she probably should have because she was taking such good care of my father. On October 19, my mother in-law passed away. It was very unexpected which made the situation even more traumatic. Kylee went far and above the duties of a routine nurse with her compassion and caring for my husband's family. She stayed with my father-in-law throughout the night and comforted him in his time of need. The couple were married for 62 years and are very devoted Catholics. Her empathy for the situation can never be equaled because it came from deep within her and ever so naturally. This being said, Kylee was born to nurture and nursing is her true calling. She has far excelled any expectation of normal duties and her unwavering devotion to families should be recognized. Thank you to her and I hope her life and prayers are fulfilled. Kylee was the nurse that helped my mom, dad and family get through one of the toughest times of our lives. My mom passed on October 19th and the care she gave not only to my mom but the care she gave to my dad and our family was outstanding. She really needs to be recognized for her compassion and being a credit to her profession. We feel blessed to have had her there to take such wonderful care of not only my mom, but especially my dad. Our family will never forget her for what she did for all of us. If anyone deserves the DAISY Award, Kylee does. God bless her! Written by patient's daughter
