I would like to recognize my son's nurse for the outstanding care, advocacy, and compassion she provided during one of the most frightening experiences our family has ever faced.

We had been in the hospital for over seven days, and during that time, I repeatedly felt that my voice was not being heard and that my son's care was not being treated as a priority. As a mother, it was incredibly frustrating and overwhelming to feel like we were being pushed aside while my child continued to suffer. Everything changed when this nurse stepped in.

Kylie took immediate action, made my son a priority, and strongly advocated on his behalf. She reached out to the doctor with clear urgency and insistence that needed to be addressed as the number one concern. For the first time during our stay, I truly felt heard. I felt like my son's needs finally mattered. The very next morning, the entire atmosphere was different. The environment felt calmer, more focused, and more hopeful. Surgeries were being scheduled, procedures were put into motion, and we were finally moving in the right direction toward recovery and discharge.

What meant the most to me was that this nurse recognized not only my son's medical needs, but also a frustrated, scared mother who needed someone to listen and act. Her willingness to step up, advocate fiercely, and show genuine compassion made my world feel brighter, calmer, and filled with hope during an incredibly dark time. I will forever be grateful for the care she gave my son and the peace she gave our family. She exemplifies exactly what nursing should be.
