Over Thanksgiving weekend, my husband's family lost his Aunt. She was more like their own mother since their own had died when they were younger and she had stepped in. After a very distressing emergency room visit, it became very clear that she was not going to make a recovery. As hard as this was for my husband and his family, there was someone who they called their angel that helped them through this time. Kym was the assigned nurse. she was extraordinary. Kym showed such empathy for the patient while her compassion for the family was unbelievable. She took the time to explain every step of what was happening in terms that they could understand and offered support from other sources available at Beaumont. Just her presence was reassuring and calming.

Kym's manager, Diane, had the following to contribute, "Kym has been a nurse for 29 years and has been in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit for 23 of those years. The unit would not be the same without Kym. She is always going the extra mile for staff, patients, and family members. She always is the go-to person. Kym is one of the rocks to CICU's foundation and is well respected by her nursing colleagues."
