Being in the NICU with your newborn child is incredibly difficult as a parent. No one can convince you that everything will be OK, that tomorrow will produce a better outcome, or even that your child is in the best of hands. But should you ever have the chance to meet Nurse Kyong Kim, you would be in a different world. Her extraordinary compassion, patience, and willingness to teach gave the one glimmer of positivity that my wife and I needed to get through the daily dismay of tubes and electrodes protruding from our child. That positivity then turned into a parent's hope, which then became a belief and then into an affirmation that our child was indeed in the very best of hands, that positive outcomes were possible, and that everything would actually be OK. Ms. Kim is not just an excellent NICU nurse... she exemplifies an outstanding human being. We are honored to have met her!
