Kimmy, as we call her in the unit, is an amazing human being. She has a heart of gold; she is compassionate and has great interpersonal skills with her patient parents and with her colleagues.

She has the perfect blend of "so nice" yet has great boundaries. She speaks up for what she believes in and communicates clearly and with respect with the doctors, nurses, and the rest of the team.

She is a woman of integrity and high values. Her clinical skills are up to par; her bedside nursing skills are also a combination of knowledge and compassion on a daily basis.

She walks in with a smile and an amazing attitude. When needed, she is always willing to be flexible, for example, to change an assignment. When it is her turn to have a student nurse, she is patient and able to teach students from basic concepts to complex ones in 10 hours. Her students leave thankful and feeling appreciated by the way Kimmy teaches them.

She is an NRP instructor and has experience as a charge nurse, so when there is a need, she is willing to take the responsibility.

Kimmy is a beautiful balance of kindness, knowledge, skills, an educator, and a great communicator.

I truly believe that she deserves this award.
