Kyra acknowledged how hard it is to be family at home not allowed to visit and made us feel heard.
Kyra was so wonderful with our family. My brother-in-law was in the CCU with COVID, and we were not allowed to be at his bedside. Kyra spent a tremendous amount of time on the phone with us at night answering our questions and updating us on how he was doing. She was very honest with us about the situation but also very encouraging and hopeful for my brother-in-law. I am an RN as well and she allowed me to ask many questions and add some of my medical knowledge suggestions in as well. She explained all the ventilator stuff to us and was always sure to tell us the positive things and be encouraging about that. Kyra helped us to Zoom with the patient and kept us a part of his care. She told us she was always talking to him in the room even though he was on the ventilator, she still talked to him and told him that his mom and family keep calling and checking up on him. She acknowledged how hard it is to be family at home not allowed to visit and made us feel heard. I feel as though she has been a big influence in his care and recovery so far and she is helping him to go in the right direction. He still has a long way to go but she told us herself that she has hope he will come off the ventilator and make a recovery. And by the grace of God, we truly believe that! We pray for total healing and for Kyra as she continues taking phenomenal care of him. We as a family want to thank Kyra for the wonderful care she gave to our family member, and feel she deserves to be recognized for her wonderful care as a nurse!
