Kyria put together a donation drive for a family that was involved in a very serious wreck. They lived very far away and were traveling back home when the wreck occurred. The sole provider of the family was hospitalized for a lengthy amount of time, putting strain on the family in many ways. Kyria also bought one of the family members needed items in order for her to remain comfortably at the bedside with the patient. This is only one example of the kind of nurse, coworker, and supervisor that Kyria is. She goes above and beyond to help provide for the needs of the unit and amongst her coworkers. I am very thankful to work alongside her.

 When tragedy hits, a great nurse is always the light. Kyria was the light for a family in their darkest hour. A patient was admitted traveling back home from spring break, which was several states away, and suffered a horrible car accident with children involved. Five members of the family were a trauma alert with no place to stay, and all clothes were lost in the accident, left with only the clothes on their back and shoes on their feet. Kyria organized a fundraiser for the family and was able to provide five outfits for each family member, toiletries, and shoes, and helped organize a place for them to sleep. She went above and beyond her nursing duties and highlighted the compassion it takes to be a nurse.
