La Fay is a nurse supervisor at Kenwood Clinic. She operates a small clinic, but has extraordinary outcomes; this year the clinic achieved 7,663 patient visits, the clinic was budgeted for 6,581 (1,082 visits above budgeted activity). La Fay always stays positive and is always eager to make process improvements. She is proud of her Lean Board and most recently was involved in a Kaizen project to decrease wait times for patients, resulting in a decrease of 20 minutes in a wait time cycle. La Fay partnered with CareLink to have a CareLink representative at Kenwood, resulting in health coverage for patients. She welcomed and assisted 2 additional providers, and remained patient when the clinic was remodeled. Once remodeling was complete, La Fay held an open house for the clinic to display the many improvements achieved. She promoted the clinic by way of grass roots and walked around the neighborhood and schools to promote services at the clinic. La Fay is the first to volunteer when help is needed. She sacrifices her Saturdays to help with immunizations and on the mammography bus. La Fay always has a pleasant demeanor, maintains a smile and goes above and beyond the call of duty.
