Our beautiful grandson entered this world via c-section following my daughter's excruciatingly heartbreaking 48-hour labor. We learned that we had lost our sweet baby boy on Saturday evening only to realize that our K and her sweet husband M would have to endure a long, arduous, and emotionally devastating labor, ultimately ending with a c-section. This ordeal has been absolutely agonizing for our entire family. The strength and resilience demonstrated by our daughter and son-in-law has awed us all and we are absolutely inspired by the grace and faith they have shown throughout this incredibly difficult time.

From the dreadful moment, we learned of our sweet boy's passing to the moment K and M left the hospital, your staff shepherded all of us through this sacred journey. The love, compassion, support, understanding, and guidance they provided are immeasurable and sustaining. They helped us see past some of the deepest sadness to find hope and celebration for our sweet boy.

Our beautiful daughter and son-in-law were able to hold their son--cherishing the 12 hours they had with him, with dignity and grace, and gratitude--because of the way your amazing nursing staff guided us through. Kaitlyn came in on her day off to help K through her c-section, after helping her through hours of labor. Meagan stopped to check in on K every day. Mallory was so kind and skillful in helping us with baby F and in helping all of us hold him and give this boy a lifetime of love in 12 hours. We have beautiful pictures to cherish forever because of Mallory. Marina and Charlotte and Meagan all took the time to speak with me and my husband, helping us each through this soul-crushing ordeal. As heart-wrenching and difficult as these days have been, there is a sacredness to this process that your nurses recognized, supported, and navigated for us as we could not see past our loss. We will never, ever forget what your team has done for us--they are angels on earth and we are so very thankful.

As a nursing professional, I am in awe of your leadership, your team, and your kindness. I am sure there are behind-the-scenes issues as there are with any team, but there was zero evidence of that from our perspective. Everyone worked together, helping each other, professionally and with great kindness and patience, and such love was shown to all of my family. You should be incredibly proud of the amazing group of professionals in Labor and Delivery. They helped us all through this agonizingly difficult time and helped us celebrate our sweet boy with respect, dignity, and so much love. I commend you as their leaders--you should be very proud.

K would also like to extend her gratitude to the team of anesthesiologists that cared for her. They listened to her concerns and eased her anxieties. The extra time in particular that Dr. Cunningham spent with her, means so much.
