Labrescka saved the life of an unborn baby and the baby was discharged home, feeding well with the mother.
A delivery was taking place in the Labor & Delivery suites. It was a breech delivery. The doctors who are very skilled delivered the body of the baby very gently. When the baby's body was delivered, the head was still not delivered, the doctor did all the known maneuvers, but the head was stuck.
Labrescka was the midwife present in the room; with great respect and compassion, she asked the doctor if she can help her. The doctor stood back and Labrescka assessed the situation in seconds. She gently placed the body on her forearm and tried to deliver the baby, by all acceptable maneuvers.
The head was still stuck, she paused, said a prayer, and again attempted with gentle movement to dislodge the baby's head. Still, it did not move, then again with gentle traction and slight up and down movement, the baby's head was delivered successfully. The baby's heart rate had dropped down to 60bpm but with expert resuscitation, the baby quickly recovered. She is skilled, respectful, and a well-educated midwife. Labrescka saved the life of an unborn baby and the baby was discharged home, feeding well with the mother.
Thank you, Labrescka!
