As my case manager and the VA professional with whom I most frequently interact, I see Ms. Norwood as an outstanding role model for nursing professionals and others involved in providing care for Veterans. Her attitude is professional, effective, and caring. She always goes above and beyond to deliver the kind, holistic and creative care I need. She is solution-oriented and very good-natured. She is particularly adept at making sure I have supplies, medications, and services that I need. She is an articulate communicator who helps me and my family make more informed decisions and choices regarding my medical care. She points out factors and issues to consider when changes may be appropriate. She has, several times, orchestrated outcomes that are not, per se, clinical or medical in nature. For example, Ms. Norwood worked with social workers and others to implement stipend payments and respite time for my wife (my home based primary caregiver). And, she is a highly effective scribe/record keeper when it comes to record keeping (current medications, for example). Indeed, Ms. Norwood makes much more than a significant difference to me and my family!
