Lakishia McMillian, RN

LaKishia McMillian has been a night shift RN at Richmond Emergency Department for a couple of years now. She has brought a wealth of knowledge to our department from her different nursing experiences. She demonstrates leadership in the department by assisting with huddles on the night shift to ensure the staff is aware of new initiatives and policies. LaKishia has been recognized by several of her patients who have sent letters and cards to the department for the exceptional care she has given them.

We received a handwritten letter from a daughter of a patient that Lakishia cared for. The daughter expressed how not only was her father comforted during his last minutes of life, but how she was comforted and eased from some of the pain due to LaKishia’s small acts of kindness. LaKishia is a strong role model for our department who demonstrates what passion, empathy, and leadership truly are
