Lana Bowie is an extraordinary nurse. Lana is direct yet gentle in her communication with patients and their families and with her colleagues. She is observant and offers help when she notices others are struggling. Lana looks for ways to improve our response time to consult requests, especially from outpatients. We have incorporated these great ideas into our care assignments to make sure no one gets missed. Lana is our Epic superuser. She dedicated herself to learning Epic and then patiently taught (and continues to teach) her WORN colleagues how to successfully use Epic. In addition, still on the Epic topic, she developed a guide for making patient assignments in Epic and a step-by-step documentation workflow so nothing gets missed.
