Lana was nominated by her coworkers, because she works diligently to make sure everyone- patients, families, staff, providers- feels special and celebrated. When there is a patient coming in to the clinic and she knows their birthday is drawing near, she will go and get a balloon and a gift and rally everyone to sing happy birthday to the child. When a staff member/provider has a birthday, she does the same thing and makes her special "Nana Puddin" and has a celebration. She has been known to stay on the phone for hours making sure a nervous parent has exactly what he/she needs to take care of the patient at home. She goes out of her way to reassure parents. Lana is a shining example of patient family centered care.
