Lana Havens, RN

After having my son Lana was my nurse. She made my stay amazing; I have never met a nurse so happy about what they do. She was always giving me advice and resources to help with questions I had. She was there to help me every step of the way.

One evening I heard a weird little noise from my son. I look over and yell to my fiancé that our son was completely purple, he couldn’t breathe and seemed to be choking. I hit my call light immediately and Lana came running in. She took my son and was able to clear the fluid he was choking on. I have never been more scared in my life than in that moment. I still to this day cannot talk about it without crying. It has taken me several months to be able to sit and write about this. I can’t seem to find the words to describe how thankful I am to Lana and the entire staff for helping me during my stay. I will forever be grateful that she was there. She saved my son’s life with her quick action. As an employee of Mercy Fairfield, I have never witnessed or received as a patient the kind of care Lana was able to provide for me.
