RN, Medical Unit
This patient had a brain tumor at age 3 and is currently trached and ventilator dependent. She requires multiple medications for pain control, seizures as well as routine meds and fluids. This patient had been chosen to attend the Jonas Brothers concert in Tacoma that evening. She was going to be accompanied to the concert by an RT and a Transport Team RN. Landis came on shift that day and attended to every little detail to make this patient’s dream possible. She made multiple phone calls to the Medical team and the Pharmacy to have everything ready and anticipated anything they might need during the concert. She planned every little detail including pain meds, PCA pump, emergency meds and IV bolus if needed. She coordinated with the family preparing her for the concert while family assured her nails were done and make up complete. Landis did an excellent job- working to accommodate every ones needs and all for the ultimate safety of Jessica’s experience.
