Lanie was nominated not just because of her ability to lead but because of the many characteristics of a true LEADER that she possesses. She may not hold an official managerial position, but she has shown her leadership as a Magnet Champion and a Wound Care Champion.

Lanie is a small but active and high-spirited person that influences and motivates other Nurses in her Unit and the whole OPD.

During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in KSA last year, she was the first OPD staff member who has shown strength, courage, and compassion to help and support the staffing need of COVID-19 wards and Home Health Care. This encouraged all the other OPD staff to extend help to other units.

As a leader, Lanie is committed to her role as Magnet Champion. She speaks up when patient safety is a concern. She helps in educating staff on the importance of nursing empowerment and engagement. She is involved in many activities to improve the work environment, quality outcomes, and nursing retention.

As a Wound Care Champion, Lanie leads other OPD Wound Care Champions. She organized a Wound Care CME Lecture for all Fakeeh Care Wound Care Nurses by directly communicating and collaborating with the Wound Care Nurse and physicians in the arrangements of the program.

Lanie's hard work and selfless efforts to lead while maintaining composure to inspire and engage other Nurses are worthy of appreciation and recognition.
