LaPaula is an extraordinary nurse. She goes above and beyond for her patients, their visitors and her coworkers. We were having a very busy day and all staff, including LaPaula, were very overwhelmed. Not only did she give her patients 110%, but she also jumped in and helped with all my patients including one that was very difficult and combative (a very confused 1:1 patient) and even though we were all so very busy and overwhelmed she took time out to attend a code blue in ICU three times during the day. She also helped lost visitors by walking 3 pods down to help them find their loved one. She did all of this with a positive attitude and with a smile for everyone.
LaPaula delivers care and compassion to everyone she encounters throughout the day. Whether it be patients, visitors, other nursing staff, physicians, chaplains, PT/OT, PCT's and housekeepers. LaPaula is also an asset with her knowledge and skills on nursing. When there is a patient that is a difficult IV stick everyone knows to get LaPaula. LaPaula is truly the perfect example of what a DAISY Nurse should look like. She is a role model for all to look up to and a leader at UVMC
