Lara Pilgrim 2, RN

I brought my daughter in last week for a general anaesthetic so she could have an MRI scan. My daughter has Desanto-Shinawi syndrome and is 24. She didn’t understand a lot of what was happening and was absolutely terrified. We went to the wrong dept but Lara came and found us, she didn’t have to do that, she said she had a feeling we were there somewhere. She spoke to my daughter in a way she could understand and kept her calm. Lara also cleaned her up when she had an accident, she didn’t have to do that either. I would never have coped for one second without her and I can’t put into words how much I appreciated what she did for us. I fight every day for my daughter and this was one day I was dreading, Lara took the stress from me and treated us both like normal people, which is something we rarely get. I honestly can’t say enough how much she helped. I wish there were more people like Lara.
