May 2021 Honoree
lara scarborough 2, MSN, RN, CMSRN
Lara is someone that over her course here at LNRMC started as a staff nurse and was promoted within to Clinical Nurse Manager, all the while working to obtain her MSN. She has worked hard to continue her climb professionally to Director of MSU even through the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to see her in action. She has truly stepped up to care for her staff and her patients, a large majority of the time prior to her accepting the role of Director. She worked all hours of both days and nights to help care for patients during the COVID surge, and to this day I see her out on the floor helping to do what is needed. I have also seen how Lara interacts with her staff. She has such a great relationship with them. She truly cares about them and works hard to get them what they need. I have enjoyed working with Lara over the last year as she has been a great resource in teaching me about the nursing care they provide on MSU as well as helping me develop a better orientation program for her staff.
Most recently Lara and her team agreed to be a part of a pilot program, 1 of 5 hospitals across the company. Lara was excited about the opportunity to have her unit be part of this staffing initiative. It is to begin later in May. Lara is a wonderful role model of a Leader in Action.

Thank you, Lara, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
