On a holiday, I witnessed Larah go way beyond her calling to give a patient some extra and needed TLC. This patient has been critically ill and through multiple surgeries over the holidays. When Larah noticed that her feet were dry, cracked, and dirty, she took it upon herself to give this patient a 'spa day.' She set up blue tubs full of hot water and bubbles for the patient to soak her feet in, and then took a hairbrush (genius!) and gently exfoliated her feet.
Larah then gave her a nice foot massage and a thorough foot inspection. It is not every day that an RN takes the time to give such thorough and individualized care, and I can tell you that it means the world to this particular patient. Thank you Larah, for inspiring me to "do a little more" for our patients, especially around the holidays.
