Some of what Laressa’s nominator shared: I am honored to nominate Laressa for the Daisy Award. She is the kindest, most compassionate, genuinely caring nurse I have ever met. Her exceptional care extends far beyond her patients; she also comforts, supports, and reassures their families during incredibly difficult times. My 55-year-old husband was brought to the hospital by EMS from a nursing facility after suffering a cardiac arrest, which resulted in an anoxic brain injury. He also faces numerous complex medical conditions, including Type 1 diabetes, renal failure requiring dialysis, and other serious health challenges. Throughout this overwhelming journey, Laressa has consistently treated him with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion. What sets Laressa apart is her remarkable bedside manner. She never rushes through her interactions; instead, she takes the time to listen carefully to our concerns, answers our questions with patience and clarity, and ensures we fully understand his plan of care. Her kindness, professionalism, and unwavering dedication exemplify the true spirit of nursing and embody everything the DAISY Award represents. Congratulations Laressa!
