Mayo Clinic Hospitals are known worldwide for many things including attention to detail. Phoenix, Arizona, is outstanding in this area of care. From a greeter at the entrance to the hospital to a shuttle to your car as you leave, attention to detail is no exception. The entire staff/employees make you feel special, and cared for, and, more importantly, they do this expecting no recognition for what they do for patients. It is why I am nominating a very special nurse who lives up to her dedication as a nurse, and this is evident by her example. She is a role model for other nurses. She genuinely cares for others, and she supports and demonstrates compassionate care not only to patients but to their families and friends which is what embodies Mayo Clinic's reputation. That extraordinary nurse is Larissa L. RN.

I am a patient at Mayo Clinic due to my Parkinson's disease which I have had for 17 years now. My entire team exudes sincere empathy for their patients, giving the patients a feeling of confidence in their doctors' abilities to care for them. That is exactly what Nurse Larissa has done for me through this journey of DBS surgery to better treat my Parkinsons. She has been there with me staying connected through all the pre-testing, assuring me that her presence will continue, even saying she will hold my hand during the drilling process. She is a rare gem, and Mayo has many like her, but I believe she has helped many stand strong unknowingly and she deserves to be recognized. Thank you!
