Larissa was my primary nurse during my overnight stay. She introduced herself at shift change (shortly after I arrived on the unit), and she immediately set about making sure I was settled in and comfortable. She was so attentive to all my needs throughout the night, was very prompt to answer any time I called and even popped in a few times for a short friendly chat. Larissa had a wonderfully cherry, upbeat spirit which I found made for a comforting, welcoming atmosphere for someone recovering and dependent upon others for care. She also possessed an extremely kind and compassionate heart.
During my first trip out of bed and walking, I became nauseous and ultimately vomited a lot. For some reason, in that moment, I felt so horrified and so vulnerable. But as Larissa (and the CNA) cleaned up my mess and helped me get clean and comfortable, I was treated with such kindness and respect that it truly touched my heart. During my stay, Larissa made me feel very comfortable and very cared for. Her compassion for her job is very evident. She is an outstanding nurse!
