Larissa took the time to explain what was going on to the wife. She sat with her and hugged her while she cried. She showed great professionalism, care and compassion that day, to both the patient and his scared wife.
On this particular Saturday, Larissa was caring for an unstable patient going to the ICU with a GI bleed. His blood pressure was low, and Larissa was working quickly to get him stabilized medically, as well as get him comfortable in the bed. She was cleaning him up when a rapid response was called for him. He was getting more unstable. Larissa came out of the room and saw the wife sitting, crying to herself. It was before 11 on a holiday when I arrived at the Banner Baywood Emergency Room. After being registered and escorted to the zone where Larissa was working, she quickly helped to get me settled, efficiently connected to all the necessary machines, etc. I had stumbled while playing pickleball and ended up sitting on my own wrist.
Larissa was very attentive to both my husband and myself, even to the point of offering him a warm blanket. It was a long afternoon for me, waiting for the X-ray results and finally a physician’s visit for a reduction and splint. Throughout the six hours we were there, she checked on us frequently. Her pleasant smile and helpful demeanor were much appreciated, as this was somewhat of a traumatic experience for me—this was my first fracture, ever.
Thankfully, Larissa was there working, trying to alleviate our stress. She even went so far as to converse with our insurance company to outline the treatment plan, when my husband was at odds with what to tell them. That was a huge help to both of us.

Larissa was absolutely amazing. I felt that she was attentive, an excellent listener and example of a very caring nurse. I felt my complete self, in speaking with her. She honestly made my visit worth it. Thank you Larissa!
