Larry Arias, RN
Sometimes the ordinary can be very extraordinary.
Larry showed true care for me as a patient, getting to know my preferences and needs quickly and then providing those effectively and efficiently.
Most importantly, he did it all while making me laugh and making me feel cared for. From the moment he entered my room for handoff, he was personable and friendly. He made me feel genuinely cared for every time I saw him.
I know nurses are busy and have a million things going on with patients who are in worse shape than I am, but Larry always made me feel like he had all the time in the world for me.
In my week here at St. Joseph, I've encountered a number of nurses and aides, and doctors who have all been solicitous and kind to me. No one has made me feel "less", and yet Larry made me feel more important in our few short interactions, and I'm grateful for his presence here.
