LaShawnda consistently goes above and beyond for her patients; however, one specific example stands out.  LaShawnda had a patient who had struggled without a source of income for some time.  He needed a lot of extra help over the past six months, which LaShawnda consistently provided through education, reminder calls for appointments, and ensuring he stays on top of what he needs to do to take care of his condition.  He was recently awarded disability but had no bank account to cash or deposit his checks nor a real understanding on how to get one, nor did he have the appropriate identification available. LaShawnda met him at a St. John's center to help him get an ID and address established for the bank account.  LaShawnda made a lasting difference in this young man’s life through her compassion and empathy.
