A registered nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center, Lashonda recently went above and beyond to provide compassionate care for a patient. The patient had a limited local support system, and knowing that, she sensed that the patient was afraid. She went above and beyond to communicate with the patient’s out-of-town family and facilitate a phone call with the patient to help ease her fears.
