LaShonda Crain, BSN, RN, OCN

My husband and I showed up for day four of my chemotherapy, and nurse LaShonda Crain came in with a big smile and upbeat attitude. We were clearly in emotional distress, torn between my chemotherapy treatment, my disabled cell phone, and my brother-in-law’s care.

LaShonda quietly observed our situation and offered to look at my cell phone. She could have easily ignored our angst, but instead chose to help diffuse the situation so that we could get back to the task at hand, treatment and healing. Thank God for a nurse who knows that healing is about the whole person, and who showed kindness and help when we needed it.
