She is a wonderful patient advocate for her patients and a skilled collaborative healthcare partner.
LaTesha Jones is a nurse whose reputation is well known among colleagues and patients alike for providing competent and compassionate care to every patient she touches. She takes on the toughest of hospice cases with an infectious positivity and is described by team members to be a calming ray of sunshine at the most vulnerable of times. She is a wonderful patient advocate for her patients and a skilled collaborative healthcare partner. Over the past year she has received several compliments and verbalizations of gratitude for the care she has provided to her patients. Although there are many examples to support, Latesha's nomination for The DAISY Award, the following is the one that stood out. Shortly after the passing of her mother, the daughter of one of LaTesha’s patients called this clinical manager to notify me that she had a very successful career as a nurse as she was a previous manager of the ED/Healthy Lives program at Monmouth Medical Center and she felt it was important to notify VNA leadership of how truly grateful she is for the care that LaTesha Jones, RNCM provided to her mother and the family during their time on VNA Hospice services. She recognizes that at times throughout their hospice journey she could be particular with regards to the care her mother received as she is a nurse herself, however, she reports that LaTesha always met her where she was at with compassion and equal dedication to quality care for her mother. She stated that she will remember the care LaTesha provided to her mother from when she was in rehab prior to their hospice journey and reports that LaTesha is just "one of those rare nurses," who has the unique ability to positively impact lives through the care she provides. She is very grateful to have LaTesha as their hospice nurse and be there for her mother throughout her hospice journey.
