Latia chose the nursing career field at an early age which allowed her to be in nursing as a CNA and RN for 20 years! Nursing has given Latia the opportunity to work in different states, specialty areas, and with different patient populations. To care for and support our Veterans has been the most rewarding. Latia's direct and full-of-energy personality can be seen and felt throughout the halls of the VA. "Thank you for this honor and the opportunities ahead.”

In the words of Latia, “Being the DAISY Nurse Leader reminds me even more that no matter what you do, even when someone has negative things to say, there’s always someone watching, and they are appreciative of what you do as well.
