My son was admitted to the unit. He is a very healthy teenager, and the last place he would want to be is in the hospital. He was very sick. LaToya exemplified a true DAISY Nurse. She showed stewardship and service by calling up the night hospitalist when I was concerned. She had compassion for my son as well as me. She would always say “mom, you need anything?” I know that takes a great nurse as it adds to her workload to extend herself but she did so every time she came in. She was the best nurse we had. I was so happy we had her for two nights. Those nights I rested easier as she showed such integrity by checking on him often. We never had to call out. LaToya, you are an amazing nurse.
