September 2016 Honoree
latoya steele 2, LPN
A Veteran came to the nursing station asking when he would be seen for his appointment. He stated he had been triaged by a nurse, but still hadn't been seen by the doctor. Nurse Steele was at the nurse's station at the time and immediately calmed the Veteran down and assisted with him getting seen by his Provider. The Veteran stated he needed to go to his car first to check on his father who was sitting outside in the parking lot waiting for him. Nurse Steele asked him where he parked his car, and that she would go out and check on his father for him. Nurse Steele went outside and took his father some bottled water and asked if wanted to come inside and wait.
