First, let me say the best thing our hospital has going for it is the nursing staff and ancillary services. It was difficult to choose just one person. If possible, I would give my nomination to everyone involved in patient care. After a four-day stay, I was discharged home. However, within less than 24 hours, I had to return and was readmitted. I was frustrated and fearful, but within minutes of meeting LaTrina, I was relaxed. With all the stress of being in a hospital, she put me at ease. Although she was able to calm me down, it was her attributes of compassion, caring, and kindness that stood out. LaTrina turned my fear into peace. I am sure there are many other things I could say but summed up, she cares. To me, nursing is compassion and kindness, and LaTrina exemplifies all that nursing should be.
