Latyra L Graham, LPN

Latyra Graham was assigned to go on a DEMPS mission for a few weeks. She was in the airport with another LPN coworker preparing to go to the destination when she came upon a young woman in the airport bathroom who appeared to be in distress and acting erratically. Ms. Graham approached the woman, keeping her calm and remaining with her until medical help arrived to assess the situation. This young woman was cared for by Ms. Graham who made sure that the woman was safe and supported in her time of need. This caused Latyra to miss her flight to the DEMPS mission. She rescheduled another flight making it to the VA DEMPS COVID mission ready to work there. Latyra is to be commended for caring for this young woman. Latyra says, "I don't regret staying with this female in distress and I would do it all over again!! My nurturing, Nursing, motherly instincts kicked in and it was the right thing to do to save lives."
