Laura Bernhard has had a significant impact on my entire unit, and I wanted her to be recognized. She stepped in to be our interim manager, and she immediately began assessing ways in which she could improve the workflow of the nurses and encourage us daily. She partnered directly with the Shared Governance team to accomplish a myriad of projects that significantly improved our daily workflow. Also, her calm but confident demeanor and positive attitude brought such a light to our unit during a difficult transition time. She was always smiling, and she took the time to round in person on each unit and check in with each nurse throughout the day to see if she could help in any way. She was extremely responsive and always willing to help; I have truly never felt so supported as a nurse as I did when she was serving as our manager. This level of teamwork, genuine care for one's coworkers, and desire for the best patient outcomes are characteristics that are worthy of celebration, and I truly hope she is recognized for her outstanding efforts.
