Laura Bibeau went out to our patient and family waiting room to obtain her first patient of the day. The patient told her that his son was here as his ride home. When this nurse asked the patient if he wanted his son to sit with him in admissions, the patient told Laura "no, he might rather sleep as he had worked all night and was very tired". Laura offered the son a stretcher in one of our empty bays for him to nap on but the son said he was comfy in the waiting room. After settling in the patient in our admission area, Laura went back to the waiting room to cover the sleeping son with a warm blanket. She went above and beyond to make sure the family was comfortable during their wait!
