Laura Bigelow is an exceptional resource nurse, providing the necessary support to staff RN's and ensuring that they are able to give great care to our patients. Some of the assistance that Laura has provided includes:

When an RN had to go home ill, which put the Acute unit short-staffed, she assisted in finding immediate help by asking an RN from a different unit if they could have someone help out until a replacement could be found.

When Acute staff could not find a current cardiology on call schedule, Laura assisted by reaching out to administrative staff to see if one had been sent. She then printed off the schedule for them to have on hand.

Laura is always helping RN's in their documentation knowledge, providing continuous education to them on how and where to document in patient's charts so that the information shows up to ensure proper recording and sufficient information for charging. Laura's assistance to our staff RN's helps them provide great care and also helps the RN by ensuring they document correctly in case of any investigation.
