Laura noticed I take thyroid medicine. I told her I have been taking 1 pill of 125mg for a long time. When they increased it to 150mg, I took 150. I was told by the morning shift that it was supposed to be 250mg before meals. I have never taken this without food. I then told her about a small nodule in my thyroid, too small to biopsy. I was unaware that she had a comparable life experience, but she took time to find out about my medicine, how long I was taking it, and told me her story. And has possibly changed my obesity story to finally make a difference with my weight, which will make me walk again after hip surgeries, as I am bedridden. I told my doctor, and he was truly impressed, complimenting her to the other nurses and telling them to give her recognition. I could not risk not saying thank you.
