During leader rounding today, a patient wanted to share that she was so amazed by Laura, her nurse the day before. Laura was assigned a nursing student this particular day she was caring for the patient. Laura had brought the nursing student into the room to help start a new IV. The patient gave consent to let the nursing student try. The patient explained that Laura was excellent at teaching him how to start the IV. She took her time, showing him where to feel and what to expect. She showed him some "tips of the trade" and the patient said Laura did so well the student got the IV on the first attempt. The patient stated it was an awesome experience watching a nurse train a new nurse, and she was pleased to see how helpful and just how caring we are, and Laura was a true blessing.
