Our family can't say enough good things about our father/husband's nurse, Laura. He was in the ICU for many days, with many issues. Along with congestive heart failure, a rare bacterial lung infection, recovery from pacemaker surgery and complications from Type 1 diabetes, he also suffers from early dementia and is hard of hearing. She would get down, low and close so he could hear everything that was important. She would repeat answers to his questions that she had answered just moments before. When his diabetes numbers were out of control and he felt awful, she was always comforting and doing all she could to make it right. The many days she was his nurse, his days were brightened by her warm, caring, and thoughtful care. His face lit up when she was his nurse for the day. We, as a family, give Laura our heartfelt thanks for the above and beyond care, she gave him during his stay. She is to be commended for the way she treated us and especially the way she cared for our 90-year-old dad. Thank you, Boone Hospital Center, for hiring such an all-around nurse. Others will also receive great care when Laura walks into their room. Thank you!
