Ellie (Laura) always had a genuine shine of happiness in her manner of care for my husband, who suffered a large bleed aneurysm. I learned so much from Ellie by watching and asking questions. She responded to every concern with a wonderful teaching style. Ellie never stopped taking care of my husband - asking him questions, having him grip her hands, telling him to pull her close, push her away. Ellie's spirit is a true passion for giving of her knowledge, values and unbiased opinion - she always made me feel welcome in her space. In my opinion, Ellie gave us the true meaning of what a nurse should be to a patient and their family. She was such a positive display of kindness and compassion. I cannot say enough about the entire Neuro Science ICU team - they worked very well together and truly defined themselves as 'the team'.
