From Patient Experience: Patient called this morning after being discharged yesterday to commend all who cared for her during her stay in ICU. She wanted to give a special recognition to a nurse named Laura, who worked Saturday and Sunday shift 7-7. She said that there was medication that was prescribed that she would need when she got home, but it just so happened on that day her pharmacy was closed. The patient said that Laura took time out of her lunch and walked across the street to Walgreens and got her medication that had been sent there for her. She stated, "Now I am here at home with the medication that I needed all because Laura went above and beyond for me."

She asked Laura what her supervisor's name was, but Laura would not say as she was that humble, the patient said. She hopes that Laura will be recognized or rewarded in some way for going above and beyond for her during her stay.
