My brother felt safe when she was there and as a sister (and a nurse) that brought me comfort.
My brother was a patient on 3A for 10 days. Laura was his nurse during the weekend and she was truly a Godsend for him and for our family. During his stay, she was very in-tune to what he needed, not just pain medicine. He needed his family that he had been away from for some time. She comforted me but more importantly, she comforted him and gave him the excellent care I’ve always expected of our caregivers. A few of the days Laura was off but she still checked on him. When she came back after a day off he was no in her assignment, BUT she came to check on him and on us to see how he was doing. I loved the way she would tease him and helped our very difficult situations be a little more bearable. He felt safe when she was there and as a sister (and a nurse) that brought me comfort. Words are hard to find to genuinely express my gratitude for the loving care she provided. Thank you Laura for being the nurse who has the best interest of the patient in mind. You made me proud to be a part of the Adena family and you will forever hold a special place in my heart.
