I received a call from a distraught mother of a 9-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted and received care at another facility. The mother was not able to arrange follow-up for her daughter. She called an advocate who encouraged her to call Fairview, telling her Fairview is excellent! I took the mom's phone number and contacted Laura. I could not even give Laura the mom's name because she was crying so hard on the phone I couldn't understand her. I reassured the mother that Laura would call her back regardless if she could help or not. I called Laura who immediately called this mom. Laura is caring and compassionate and gave much-needed emotional support to this mom. She answered the mom's questions and helped arrange follow up even though this child was never a patient at Fairview. Laura will go above and beyond for help anyone in need regardless of the situation.
