On more than one occasion, Laura has made herself available while I was working on patients who weren't doing so well. The first time was a child who had an accidental overdose. Without hesitation, Laura helped me with the medication administration since I was unfamiliar.
The second time, we received two Pediatric admissions. While we were accepting the first one, the doctor decided the patient needed to be transferred to WCMC. Laura had to transport the admission upstairs by herself and then offered to transfer the other patient as well. Because of her assistance, we were able to transfer the patients in a timely manner. The patients received quality nursing care because the nurses worked as a team. I feel strongly about recognizing Laura because she is the definition of a team player and a great nurse. Laura is a strong asset to our team.
