October 2020 Honoree
laura hipsher, RN
I was caring for a patient who was homeless and didn't have many possessions. I saw a brand new pair of shoes in a sack for the patient. When I showed him the shoes, he was instantly excited, and it lifted his spirits. I found out that Laura had sat those in his room during the day when the patient was sleeping. Laura went above and beyond for this patient and made a positive impact on this patient's life! The patient was so happy!

A homeless patient came in on his bicycle. The patient was very ill and admitted to the hospital. Laura provided the patient with new socks and a new pair of shoes. Laura went out and bought and brought in the next day. The shoes and socks he came in with were so worn you could hardly tell what they were anymore.

Thank you, Laura, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
